Uno staff dell'ospedale Saint-Antoine di Parigi ha realizzato la prima auto-trasfusione umana di globuli rossi ottenuti da cellule staminali: i ricercatori, coordinati dal professor Luc Douay, hanno ottenuto i globuli rossi in laboratorio a partire da cellule staminali emopoietiche del donatore, iniettandoli poi con successo nel suo corpo.
